Getting Started with iPad (USB-C)

This guide applies to using Ultimate Backup with USB-C model iPads:

  • iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation or later)

  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation or later)

  • iPad Air (4th generation or later)

  • iPad mini (6th generation or later)

  • iPad (10th generation or later)
  • For earlier generation iPads, please see this guide

Before getting started, make sure iOS is up to date on your iPad, and if you haven't already, download the Ultimate Backup app UB App 04.png from the App Store and open it. Next, follow along with this tutorial video, or continue with the instructions below for help setting up the app:

  1. Tap Create Account if this is your first time using Ultimate Backup, otherwise tap Sign In:

  2. Fill out the Create Account or Sign In screen, and then tap Create Account or Sign In:

  3. Tap to select the Ultimate Backup product you're using:
    Select Drive > Either Drive.PNG

  4. Tap Confirm Selection at the bottom:
    Select Drive > 4-in-1 Selected > Confirm Selection Blue.PNG

  5. Next, connect your Ultimate Backup to your iPad according to the model you're using, as demonstrated below:

  6. Tap Grant Access to Drive:
    Connect Drive (4-in-1) > Grant Access to Drive.PNG

  7. Tap Open Drive Picker at the bottom:

  8. Tap UBDRIVE on the left side of the pop-up window:

  9. Tap Open at the top right of the pop-up window:

  10. Tap Start Backup on the Home Home.jpg screen:
    Home > Start Backup.PNG

  11. Tap Allow Full Access so Ultimate Backup can save your entire photo library:
    Home > Allow Access to Photos > Allow Full Access.PNG
  12. Tap Continue and then Allow Full Access so Ultimate Backup can save your entire contacts list, then sit back and enjoy the show!
