Ultimate Backup SSD will use one of two unique modes in order to backup files from your iPhone (or iPad), which is explained in greater detail here. Typically, Ultimate Backup SSD can connect directly to, and backup from your iOS device, if it connects via USB-C:
In some rare cases, Ultimate Backup SSD may not be detected while connected to your iPhone. Additionally, for the sake of portability, some users prefer to leave their Ultimate Backup SSD at home, finding it easier to backup their files remotely, and then complete the process later. Whatever the reason, with Manual Backup Mode enabled, your phone or tablet will temporarily save any new files to your Ultimate Backup account as you run the backup in the mobile app. Then, when you're ready, and within 30 days of completing the backup from your iOS device, you'll just need to complete the process within the computer app.
This guide will show you how to enable Manual Backup Mode. Before getting started, make sure iOS is up to date on your iPhone, and if you haven't already, download the Ultimate Backup app from the App Store and open it.

- Turn the toggle on next to Manual Backup Mode:

- The app should refresh and load back to the Home
