This guide will show you how to download and open the Ultimate Backup app on your Mac. There are a couple options for using the app, so we'll go over each below. If you're using an older version of Mac, you may need Option 2. For the vast majority of users, however, Option 1 is likely all you'll need.
OPTION 1: INSTALLING FROM THE MAC APP STORE
This version of the Ultimate Backup app works with macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or higher. Just follow the steps below to get started:
- Click this link to open the Mac App Store to the Ultimate Backup app page.
- Click either Open App Store or View in Mac App Store:
- Click Get:
- Click Install:
- Enter your password if prompted, and then wait for the app to install:
- Click Open:
- Once you're in the app, use the App Setup guide to get started with your first backup.
OPTION 2: USING THE APP INSTALLED ON THE ULTIMATE BACKUP
This version of the Ultimate Backup app works with macOS 10.11 (El Capitan) or higher. First, connect your Ultimate Backup to your Mac. Then follow the steps below to get started:

Click the Finder
icon in your Dock to open a Finder window. -
Click UBDRIVE on the left:

Double-click UltimateBackupForMac to open the app:
- Once you're in the app, use the App Setup guide to get started with your first backup.
