Eject Ultimate Backup

There are several ways to unmount or eject your Ultimate Backup from an Android device.

There are several ways in which you can unmount or eject your Ultimate Backup so it can be safely disconnected from your Android device. The most common method is listed first, but you can use the links here to jump to alternate methods:

EJECT ULTIMATE BACKUP FROM NOTIFICATIONS ON SAMSUNG PHONE

This is the most common method for ejecting your Ultimate Backup from your Samsung phone:

1. Swipe down from the top of your screen to show your Notifications:
   
   
    
2. Find "USB storage added" or "USB drive" listed here:
   
    
3. Tap the down arrow v to find the more options:
   
    
4. Tap the Unmount option:
   
    
5. Wait for your Ultimate Backup to eject before disconnecting:
   
    

EJECT ULTIMATE BACKUP FROM MY FILES APP ON SAMSUNG PHONE

If you are unable to find 'USB storage added' or 'USB drive' listed in your Notifications, you can also eject Ultimate Backup from within the My Files app on newer Samsung phones:

1. Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to open the App Drawer:
   
2. Type "My Files" into the search field:
   
    
3. Tap the app icon at the top to open:
   
    
4. Look for 'USB storage 1' under 'Storage' and tap the more button to the right:
   
5. Tap Unmount:
   
    
6. Wait for your Ultimate Backup to unmount before disconnecting:
   
    

EJECT ULTIMATE BACKUP FROM SETTINGS ON SAMSUNG PHONE

If for any reason you can't find 'USB storage added' or 'USB drive' in your Notifications or the 'My Files' app, you may be running an older version of Android. In this case, you can eject Ultimate Backup from within the Settings app on your phone:

1. From your Home screen, open the Settings app:
   
    
2. Scroll down and tap Device care or Device maintenance:
   
    
3. Tap Storage:
   
    
4. Tap Advanced:
   
   
   Or tap the more button and then Storage settings:
   
    
5. Tap the eject button next to 'UBDRIVE':
   
    
6. Wait for your Ultimate Backup to unmount before disconnecting:
   
    

EJECT ULTIMATE BACKUP FROM NON-SAMSUNG PHONES

If you have a non-Samsung Android phone, you can eject Ultimate Backup from within the Settings app:

1. Open the Settings app and tap Storage:
   
    
2. Tap This device at the top left:
   
    
3. Tap UBDRIVE in the list:
   
    
4. Tap the more button at the top right:
   
    
5. Tap Eject:
   
    
6. Wait for the UBDRIVE is safely ejected message at the bottom before disconnecting:
   
    

These screens are from a Google Pixel, so the menus on your phone may be named or arranged a little differently. If you need further assistance unmounting or ejecting a USB drive from your specific Android device, you should contact the manufacturer of the phone for help.

I STILL CAN'T EJECT

If you couldn't find an eject option using any of the steps above, you can simply unplug your Ultimate Backup, as long as it hasn't been used in the last 2 minutes. That gives your phone time to finish anything it was doing with the drive. Before you unplug it, make sure that:

• a backup is not in progress, and
• you haven't viewed or deleted any files on your Ultimate Backup in the last 2 minutes.
