This guide will show you how to use our Repair Tool to update and repair your Ultimate Backup software. First, connect your Ultimate Backup to your Mac, but do not open the app. Instead, follow the steps below:
- Click this link to download the Repair Tool.
- Find the "RepairTool-Mac" file in your Downloads folder using Finder, and double-click to open:
- Double-click the RepairTool icon:
- If you see a prompt asking if you are "sure you want to open it," click Open:
- Click Find Drive:
- If you don't see this prompt asking for "Full Disk Access," skip to step 8, otherwise click Open System Settings:
- Find "RepairTool" in the list, click the toggle to the right to allow full disk access, click Quit & Reopen, wait for Repair Tool to open again, and then click Find Drive once more:
- Click Start Repair:
- If you see this prompt asking for access to "files on a removable volume," click Allow or OK:
- The Repair Tool will let you know when the repair process is complete. Be sure to open the 'UltimateBackupForMac' app on the drive to use your Ultimate Backup moving forward. Following the steps outlined in this guide will not erase any of the files stored on your Ultimate Backup, but this is also not a guarantee to regain access to files that may have been inaccessible prior to running the Repair Tool.
