If the Ultimate Backup app isn't finding some of the photos or videos you'd like to back up, the steps below will help make sure the app has full access to your library:
- Open the Backup Options menu and make sure the switches are enabled for everything you'd like to back up.
- Your files may be stored in your online Google Photos library rather than on your device. If that's the case, follow the steps in this article to back them up.
- The app is only able to discover the same files that appear in Android's built-in Files app. Files that are private to other apps cannot be discovered.
- Restart your phone, then wait about 10 minutes before starting another backup. Restarting forces your phone to rescan for new files, while waiting gives your phone enough time to complete the rescan.
- Files copied to your phone as the result of a Restore are ignored during later backups, since those files are already backed up.
- If all else fails, you can enable the Advanced File Picker. This uses another gallery app on your device to select files, and it's possible that different files may show up with this option. Go to the Settings tab > Advanced Options > enable Advanced File Picker, then start a backup.
